Resurrection
When is it time to resurrect your soul consciousness?

To resurrect means to bring back into use something that has been stopped or discarded. Christians around the world observe Easter as the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. It can also be an opportunity to resurrect soul consciousness and bring it into fullness. You will know exactly what I mean, if you have been a participant in Oprah and Eckhart Tolle’s largest on-line class ever. His latest book, A New Earth, is about how we identify with the “egoic mind,” and how it becomes a state of consciousness.

Soul consciousness is so present in children, as they live in the moment and laugh a lot. But as each birthday is celebrated after about age 5, the ego takes up a strong residency and we become identified with this false sense of who we think we are. We become ignorant to the wisdom that the ego’s purpose is to survive and will do anything in order to do that. So as I see it, we have discarded our soul in lieu of the ego. We think we are our titles, our jobs, our status in life, our race, gender and cultural beliefs. I believe it is our purpose to resurrect our own soul into beingness.

As we close the festivities for Easter 2008, let’s shift into a new paradigm and be more cognizant of what we attach to the words, “I am.” I am an expression of Love. Let’s focus on hope, trust and love; qualities of the soul, rather than despair, doubt and righteous; qualities of the ego, and let this spring be the birth of resurrecting your true self into bloom.

This is a process and Life is there to support our awakening. For starters:

  • be willing to let go of the victim (the ego’s most prominent characteristic)
  • truly own the truth that you are totally responsible for your pain as well as your pleasure
  • give up your stories about your past and the disappointment that it didn’t fit your pictures
  • be ready to embrace the obstacles to your new growth
  • take action steps on a daily basis to awaken your soul
  • walk with faith instead of being on the pity path
Spirit is always waiting for us to claim our true nature, and is so ready to help us. We need simply need to show the desire and intention.

Remember the ego will feel threatened, showing up as anger, worry, control and the need to be right as well as the need to hold on to old sabotaging beliefs that no longer serve you. Fear may manifest. Struggle may surface. You may believe that you are unable to cope with these changes and this new birth. The ego does not like to have the boat rocked. Keep on keeping on, asking for the guidance to show you the way.

Then one day you will notice that there is less agitation in your life as it feels easier and you experience calm more often than unrest. The thrashing of positions within appears to neutralizes as life seems to flow and peace prevails more consistently. The journey has more clarity without having to control it and you feel more detached from the outcome. Trust is in high gear now and it all feels right. Resistance visits you less and less. You are learning to accept the moment and what is. The synchronistic events that occur are fascinating and enlightening. You laugh a lot and gratitude is your new attitude.

Easter comes once a year, but every day you become more empowered knowing your Essence and living from that state of awareness.

Affirmation
This glorious day I live my every moment knowing who I am. My heart is filled with appreciation, love of Life, and joy fills every cell of my being.

Quote:
The true test of the American ideal is whether we’re able to recognize our failings and then rise together to meet the challenges of our time. Whether we allow ourselves to be shaped by events and history, or whether we act to shape them. Whether chance of birth or circumstance decides life’s big winners and losers, or whether we build a community where, at the very least, everyone has a chance to work hard, get ahead, and reach their dreams.
