Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday Alexandra,
Happy Birthday to me.
Yes, today is the day of this attitude doc’s birth. It was 4:25 a.m. on the 14th of January, many years ago, when I slipped into a physical body in this third dimension. It is the day I believe that my loving parents and I materialized our contract to learn the lessons from each other that would progress our individual soul evolution. What a huge event. What a celebration.
Along with the physical body I was given a sixth sense, intuition, which can be referred to as a bridge between the soul and ego consciousness. This infallible teacher of truth was provided to help me remember my true nature, as it was forgotten as a young child. What a bummer.
Along with this tool for making the wisest choices in life, I was given the best birthday gift of all, the power of will – the power to choose. I could use my reason, my will and finally act upon it. I could choose to think a limiting and self-destructive thought like, “I’m not worthy of a happy life,” or “I deserve to be joyful, abundant and in harmony.” I could choose to feel sorry for myself, which is then validated by supporting thoughts or to feel gratitude which produces the same process. Wow! Amazing! Incredible! What a gift. But how unfortunate that I wasn’t taught this early on in school when I could have benefited from it as I was maturing.
Also included in the package was a purpose for my life along with a heavy dose of passion to fulfill it. I would get to express my unique gifts to make this world a better place to live. How very clever. I would actually discover at some time in my life that I have everything I need to survive within me. I can be at peace, regardless of circumstances. I can feel whole, total and complete, no matter what the situations in the world or in my life. I can be in charge of my attitude, which determines the degree of happiness I experience. How totally brilliant!
I can also cultivate the desire at any moment to learn the true meaning of life—to love, unconditionally and to realize my Self as a child of a magnificent and wondrous Universe. What a game this thing called Life!

Hindu Prayer for Peace Oh God, lead us from the unreal to the Real. Oh God, lead us from darkness to light. Oh God, lead us from death to immortality. Shanti, Shanti, Shanti unto all. O Lord God Almighty may there be peace in Celestial regions. May there be peace on earth. May the waters be appeasing. May herbs be wholesome, and may trees and plants bring peace to all.
May all beneficent beings bring peace to us.
Once we realize that all sense of security is an illusion, then we can give up the fruitless effort of trying to pin down safe props or people. Instead, we can look inside for our security, and develop ways to foster that strength. For this, we need to proclaim the discover of basic groundlessness, as the beginning of the spiritual path.
